This person will be required to work on a hybrid basis out of our US headquarter office in Wayzata, Minnesota. Relocation will be considered for this role.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Relative Value Trading Manager will utilize Cargill and industry knowledge to generate income from trading a broad variety of agricultural product futures contracts while maintaining limited independent commodity flat price risk. This role requires high risk tolerance as well as a broad understanding of multiple agricultural markets.

Key Accountabilities

  • Apply a deep comprehension of futures trading practices and procedures across multiple commodities to develop and execute trading strategies.

  • Maintain limited long or short dollar exposure.

  • Build trading plans that leverage Cargill’s view among a broad basket of commodities.

  • Monitor profits and loss on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

  • Independently monitor VAR exposure and stay within VAR limits.

  • Work with the Risk Management Group to establish and maintain risk metrics.

  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of six years of related work experience

  • Advanced knowledge and proven success with futures trading

  • Ability to work out of our Wayzata, MN corporate headquarters office 3 days a week (relocation will be considered)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of Value at Risk (VAR)

  • Experience with agriculture commodities futures trading

  • Ability to work within ambiguity and help establish new process.
