Robert Half International Payroll Manager in Wayzata, Minnesota

Description

Are you a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Specialist with significant experience processing payroll in a multi-state environment? If so, Robert Half may have the perfect opportunity for you. Our client, located in Wayzata, Minnesota, is seeking an exceptionally detailed subject matter expert that can assist them in a fully remote capacity due to a recent resignation. In this role, you will function as the sole payroll resource for a growing Robert Half client, adding value through maintaining their current processes, but also by surfacing opportunities to make the process better during your time there as a contractor. Your specific job responsibilities for this role include:

  • Process payroll in a multi-state environment for approximately 1,000 employees

  • Manage payroll processing for both exempt and non-exempt employee populations, including both weekly and biweekly cycles

  • Prepare payroll tax returns for 10 states, including all county and city jurisdictional returns

  • Process employee updates in the HRIS system, including address changes, tax reporting and exemption changes, etc.

  • Function as the subject matter expert for all questions related to the payroll processing, including payroll tax

  • Audit payroll time entries for completeness and accuracy

  • Answer payroll questions from internal staff via phone and email

  • Various other projects as directed by leadership team.

    Requirements

5+ years of prior multi-state payroll processing experience

Prior recent experience using either an in-house or outsourced software, such as ADP, Ceridian, Paylocity, Paychex, PeopleSoft, Workday or Ultipro

Mid-large sized corporate payroll processing experience

Previous payroll tax return filing experience is highly desired

Strong attention to detail

Ability to think strategically, but also work tactically

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or Business highly desired
