DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Records Specialist 1, you are responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date master files. You accomplish this through analyzing court documents to create and revise sentence structures and sentence calculations, revising sentence calculations when changes are made by the court or the Pennsylvania Probation and Parole Board, reviewing time periods identified as commitment credit to determine if the credit is legal and should be applied, updating and reviewing inmate criminal histories, conducting one-on-one interviews with inmates for various reasons, and communicating with various criminal and justice agencies regarding inmates.

Additional duties include the scrutinizing of inmate cases assigned to your caseload prior to release to ensure that the release is legal, timely, and that the inmate has met all requirements for release. You also register and fingerprint parole violators and sex offenders under Megan's Law.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement at age 60 or 65. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,003.00 (before taxes).
