Responsibilities

Perform various functions including receiving, delivering materials to/from production areas, shipping, scrap material moves, and misc. supply moves, using different types of lift trucks and attachments, in a safe and efficient manner. Operates company-leased/owned tractor trailer unit transporting dry resin, fabric, or supplies between rail siding, scales, plant, and truck lot.

Section 3: Primary Responsibilities (Task, Duties Performed and Essential Functions)

  1. Perform all tasks in a safe manner.

  2. Comply with OSHA and Hazardous Material regulations pertaining to lift truck operation and material handling and observes plant and departmental safety rules and regulations

  3. Perform forklift inspections and report any issues. Responsible for battery maintenance, charging, and filling lift truck battery as needed

  4. Operate dock equipment (both manual and automatic) and correct or report any issue identified

  5. Knowledgeable of handling procedures for all materials to prevent accidents

  6. Responsible for warehouse housekeeping including equipment and floor cleanliness, aisle maintenance, and common area appearance

  7. Load / Unload trailers to receive material, and ship customer orders

  8. Verify, identify and inspect a wide variety of incoming materials, supplies, and finished goods from operations

  9. Pulls, stages and ships customer orders

  10. Responsible for various inventory transactions using barcode scanner and/or computer system

  11. Monitors First In – First Out inventory transactions

  12. Prepare and/or assemble required shipping documents.

  13. Able to prepare all required documentation in a legible and complete manner

  14. Troubleshoot any material problems including inventory discrepancies, freight damage, contamination, packaging or handling issues.

  15. Must report any variances in receiving, material moves to/from production, and shipping transactions

  16. Responsible for quality control – no damaged product shipped, no damaged raw materials accepted

  17. Participate in cycle counts as required

  18. Follows all procedures including but not limited to work instructions, standard operating procedures, material specifications, and job safety analysis

  19. Participate in department and plant meetings and all training as required

  20. Maintain qualifications for Class A CDL

  21. Operates tanker truck safely to load resin at rail site and offload into correct silo at plant as needed

  22. Check for contaminated / wet resin as seal is opened on each pocket of a railcar (4x)

  23. Keep hoses off the ground and check for worn spots / holes that could potentially contaminate load

  24. Wear proper PPE to perform tasks while pumping resin

  25. Drive tanker safely between rail site and plant following all traffic laws while driving

  26. Weighs scrap trucks as needed

  27. Checks daily to see CDL is present and valid when driving

  28. Ensures the presence of current insurance card

  29. Checks trailer for proper loading so as to not overload on axle

  30. If under ICC, must have card at all times when driving

  31. Must be constantly aware of road conditions and observe safe driving habits and speed limits at all times

  32. Makes minor mechanical repairs, washes and keeps trucks in good working order

  33. Performs pre-trip inspections as required

  34. Fills out all DOT and FDOT transportation documents

  35. Switches trailers as required at all docks

  36. Must report all charges against license prior to the next scheduled work day

  37. Performs additional duties as assigned by supervision

  38. Train others as required

  39. Other duties as assigned

1)Employee must have 20/20 vision corrected in both eyes, to discern various color graphics and color matches.

2) Employee must be able to work rotating 12 hour shifts.

3) Employee must be qualified to operate powered industrial trucks and pass Forklift License Program.

4) Employee must be able to climb, bend, stoop and crawl.

5) Employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

6) Required to frequently ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs over extremely fast moving machinery.

7) Required to safely access fast moving machinery which includes rolls with inward nip points.

Ø WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time; dust, cold, heat, humidity, odors. The noise level in the work environment varies and hearing protection is required in some areas.

1) Area may or may not be air conditioned or heated, and may be humid and hot or cold depending on seasonal conditions.

2) Exposure to hot and/or abrasive surfaces.

3) Required to be in tight spaces on occasion and to heights daily.

4) Possible exposure to noise levels over 90 decibels for 12 hours at certain locations.

5) Moving machinery or moving objects on production floor.

6) Floor surfaces slippery at times.

7) Exposure to chemicals which may cause eye or skin irritation and/or burns, and irritation to respiratory system.

8) Exposure to static electricity on occasion.

9) Exposure to and use of sharp implements at times.

10) Exposure to outside elements on occasion.
