Job Description

Danfoss is looking for a Product Manager/Owner for industrial Refrigeration Control Systems. The position is in Waynesboro PA, USA, where you will be the owner of the product portfolio addressing control panel solutions and power panels for optimization of industrial refrigeration systems. The products support a strong market position within vales for the industrial refrigeration market and you will address a global organization with many stakeholders. You will join an established team in Waynesboro that focuses on control and automation solutions for Industrial Refrigeration. It is a multicultural and dynamic environment, where you will have a global interface with industry OEMs, contractors, and end-users. You will be responsible for the portfolio of our PLC-based control offerings as well as power panels and embedded microprocessor control (EMC) solutions. Furthermore, you will be the product owner of innovative solutions bringing cloud-optimized energy management into our portfolio. You will have the global ownership of establishing a competitive product offering within optimized control solutions for industrial refrigeration.

Job Responsibilities

Key tasks and success criteria:

• Define and drive the product vision, based on customer and stakeholder needs and market research.

• Assess the current product portfolio, develop product road maps, outline the market strategy, and manage the product positioning, promotion, and placement throughout the products’ lifecycle.

• Develop and promote business cases for new product development projects, product launches, and launch tracking

• Drive development and implementation of new control solutions from concept stage to design, manufacturing, and finally to sales, based on customer needs

• Develop market specifications for new product developments including ownership of the market specification, the launch plan and overall portfolio plan including phase out.

• Manage product adaptations based on customer specific requests

• Assume the NPD project management responsibilities including the roadmap, schedule, regular sprint/scrum reviews, and reporting on milestones while driving the forward progress of the projects

• Lead product launch plans, commercial product training, product promotions, and strategic pricing direction.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to specify, develop, launch, and grow products in the market and maintain a successful business.

• Support shaping the future direction of our digital service portfolio.

• Ensure progress and structure in the projects to reach agreed targets

• Creation of technical product documentation

• Product maintenance and lifecycle management

Background & Skills

Ideally, you have solid technical skills and strong commercial flair to transform our customers’ spoken and latent needs into product specifications. You work persistently to achieve your goals and have a strong business understanding from similar positions. You possess a strong quality mindset and can motivate, inspire, and influence others, regardless of their role. You thrive working across functions in a matrixed and international organization.

• B.Sc. in Electrical, Software, or Mechanical Engineering, preferred combined with commercial/marketing/project management experience

• Experience with Scrum and Agile product development methods and tools

• 5-10 years of relevant experience from similar product manager/product owner positions. If related to industrial refrigeration it will be an advantage, but not a requirement

• Flexibility to travel as customers and key stakeholders are global

• English at a high level is required
