Monday - Friday 7:00a-3:30p

General Summary

Repairs, tests, calibrates and maintains a variety of medical equipment, such as but not limited to: physiological monitors, nurse call systems, defibrillators, EKG machines etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Performs preventative maintenance inspections and electrical safety testing and corrects problems encountered.

• Analyzes electronic equipment for cause(s) of failure; isolates, tests, and replaces defective parts.

• Uses available test equipment to test functioning of all medical equipment; troubleshoots functioning problems and repairs medical devices.

• Makes necessary operational adjustments to electronic equipment and takes sensitivity, selectivity, and accuracy measurements.

• Responds to emergency calls from critical care areas; troubleshoots equipment problems and repairs hardware as needed.

• Works with equipment manufacturers on repair work and orders parts needed for equipment repair and maintenance.

• Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

• Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.

• Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

• Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.

• Maintains appropriate records, reports, and files as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• Associates Degree Required

Work Experience:

• 2 years Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:

• Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician Upon Hire Preferred

Driver's License Statement:

Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
