Summary:
IQVIA is looking for a well-established global Director of Enterprise Storage Solutions. This role is responsible for all on-premises compute storage, backup, DR and archive solutions globally. They will be asked to oversee a large, diverse, global team of operators managing 24x7 operations covering dozens of data centers and regional sites. The candidate should be well versed in all storage solutions from block, object, SAN, NAS, and more. They will be expected to understand various files systems such as ZFS, XFS, EXT4, BTRFS, etc., as well as have good knowledge of open-source storage and replication solutions.
The ideal candidate will be able to assess the current storage estate to define the future storage strategy, aligning it with business goals, and identifying future storage technology requirements. IQVIA’s storage landscape has grown over time through mergers, acquisitions, and organic growth. We will be aiming to find a candidate who can help pave the future direction and consolidate our expansive solutions into a more optimal end state.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the strategic plan for the organization's data storage systems.
Develop and manage a multi-million dollar storage budget, ensuring to remain on-budget, identify areas of reduction, and manage in economical fashions.
Lead the design, deployment, and management of enterprise storage solutions in close alignment with compute team and business team needs.
Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across all storage platforms.
Guide a management team of storage administrators and engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
Monitor storage performance, capacity, and utilization to ensure optimal efficiency and adequate global capacity basic on historical trends.
Development of automated solutions for storage deployment, management, policies, reporting, and otherwise.
Oversee the backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans for all storage systems and manage internal and external audits.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organization is leveraging the best storage solutions.
Establish and enforce storage policies, procedures, and best practices.
Skills and qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in systems design and management.
Deep understanding of enterprise storage technologies (SAN, NAS, object storage, cloud storage), including both proprietary and open source software.
Strong knowledge of data protection, backup, and business continuity strategies (high availability, disaster recovery, fault tolerant designs).
Expertise in storage management tools and protocols including knowledge of fiber channel, iSCSI, RDMA, RoCE, NVMe-oF, TCP, NFS, SMB.
Strong knowledge of data protection and disaster recovery strategies.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse global team.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Experience with IT infrastructure planning and budgeting.
Fluent in the English language with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This position has the option to be remote\work from home.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $136,500.00 - $278,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
