Gun Lake Casino Network Engineer in Wayland, Michigan

Position Summary:

Responsibilities include managing and supervising daily tasks, projects, objectives and resources within property IT. Service areas include, but are not limited to, software and hardware troubleshooting, software application product installation, computer hardware installation, telecommunication support, internet connectivity support associated with Gun Lake Casino’s electronic functionality, and other responsibilities as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Gun Lake Casino’s “Unsurpassed Service” Standards at all times.

  • Working with the IT Director, develop, implement and track career development strategy for Team Members.

  • Maintain documentation of all local properties policies and procedures.

  • Construct a training curriculum, equipping support Team Members to increase proficiency, productivity, and customer service.

  • Investigate business solutions and opportunities that can benefit the organization and/or their area of responsibility.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of network engineering experience.

  • Must have strong working knowledge of Juniper Junos OS.

  • Experience supporting Juniper and/or Cisco routing and switching hardware.

  • Experience supporting and implementing Cisco UCS phone systems.

  • Certifications such as JNCIE, JNCIP, JNCIS, JNCIA, CCNA and CCNP will be strongly considered.

  • Experience managing vLan, 802.11 security, switch configurations, routing tables and VPN.

  • Working knowledge of Windows Server 2008 preferred.

  • Experience in managing projects effectively, and utilizing resources appropriately to ensure a timely, quality product.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.

  • Ability to perform well under pressure.

  • Must have a valid Driving License and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires twenty-four (24) hour per day availability, daily work schedule.

  • Manual Dexterity to operate job related equipment.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.

Work Conditions:

Work is typically in an office environment. Tasks may be performed from a sitting or non-sitting position in a confined area. Team Members may be required to stand, walk , lift, reach, push, pull and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned area. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.
