Agiliti Health Electrical Engineering Manager in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin

Job Description:

As an Electrical Engineering Manager , you will handle the complete lifecycle of product development, working closely with various departments. Your responsibilities will include creating product interfaces and design assemblies, maintaining and reviewing products for continuous improvement, and managing the efforts of your direct reports in the Electrical Engineering team. You will also handle other duties as assigned to assist in accomplishing our organizational mission.

What You Will Do:

  • Direct and lead the product development lifecycle.

  • Lead and participate in brainstorming sessions to define project specifications.

  • Define and manage project schedules, resource planning, and key milestone deliverables.

  • Coordinate work activities among internal and external team members.

  • Generate complete mechanical manufacturing packages for suppliers, including schematics, Gerber files, BOMs, and part/system-level specifications.

  • Define electrical reliability test procedures to validate performance goals and verify compliance with applicable EMC/safety certifications.

  • Design and review manufacturing test fixtures and procedures, review and approve initial production samples, and analyze and test field returns to determine root cause of failure.

  • Create PCBA, firmware, control algorithms, UI, and cloud backends for electro-mechanical part and assembly designs using industry-related design tools.

  • Research and propose possible technology enablers and potential areas for product patent protection.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with various department teams to support prototype electronics, clinical and quality teams, and manufacturing partners.

  • Organize and lead project update presentations and design reviews.

  • Contribute to product risk analysis, usability, and verification efforts for medical product certifications.

  • Participate in ISO and AAMI standards development.

  • Manage and mentor less experienced Electrical Engineering team members.

  • Contribute to the overall success of the company by handling other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Engineering required.

  • 10+ years of experience designing PCBA in the medical, consumer, automotive, or aerospace industry required.

  • 2+ years of experience leading product development projects as a team lead required.

  • Exceptional EE CAD and firmware development skills for creating robust PCBA part designs and firmware. Cloud and app development capabilities are a significant plus.

  • Ability to manage complexities and competing priorities, coordinating information and activities among groups with differing agendas.

  • Proven experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA).

  • Understanding of and familiarity with mass production manufacturing processes for consumer products, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and industry-standard testing processes.

  • Familiarity with other technical disciplines such as mechanical engineering is preferred.

  • Experience designing for agency certifications (e.g., ISO, IEC, AAMI, UL, CE, CISPR, FCC, FDA) is required. Prior experience with the 60601 family or other FDA-related standards is a significant plus.

  • Prior experience interfacing with certification bodies (Intertek, UL, TUV) is preferred.

  • Prior experience managing and mentoring a small team of junior engineers.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed, both domestically and internationally.

  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
