This design engineering role will be responsible for power electronics design and engineering; designing, developing, modifying and evaluating power semiconductor parts, passive components or integrated circuitry for power electronics equipment and other hardware systems and integrating that circuity into a magnetic resonance system. Identify design approaches and parameters; analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests & evaluate results. Leverage supplier relationships to deliver designs to customers.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for power electronics product design & development with compliance of GEHC product development process. Focus on high power supply and current amplifier for improvement design, cost reduction design and verification

  • Common skill sets include power and analog circuit design. Specialized skill sets for this role include power electronics design, magnetics design, and controls.

  • Circuit board design (schematic capture), board bring-up (testing, using standard electronic equipment), and system integration.

  • Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures.

  • A job at this level requires good interpersonal and organizational skills and candidate may be required to mentor, coach, and lead a junior engineer.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with minimum of 8 years relative work experience in power electronics and analog system design.

  • Demonstrated ability to design and debug power and analog bench level test setups. Must be familiar with common high power semiconductor components, popular power conversion topologies, control loop stability analysis and EMI suppression methods.

  • Strong capability to build prototypes, experimentation on systems, and bench testing

  • Demonstrated experience in MATLAB or equivalent simulation/modeling tool.

  • Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures.

  • Power Circuit design and simulation tool experience.

  • Schematic capture experience.

  • Working knowledge of PWA board bring-up and system integration experience.

  • Experience with typical electrical test equipment.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master Degree in power related field

  • Familiar with multi layers PWB / PWA layout, knows either one of these tools: Cadence / OrCAD / Protel, etc
