PROLEC-GE WAUKESHA Field Service Technician South Region in WAUKESHA, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB SUMMARY The Field Service Technician (III) will be expected to travel throughout the USA. This role will work within in the team to execute mechanical/electrical tasks in direct support of completing field service projects on equipment utilized in Power Transmission, Distribution, and Generation. This role will participate in the installation, maintenance and or repair of electrical equipment following defined procedures and industry standards. Market companies capabilities for future opportunities. This role must independently troubleshoot and analyze technical requirements and have the ability to compose Field Reports. To be fully proficient in 3 of the 5 technical competencies: Transformer Assembly, Eectrical Testing, Controls, LTC\'s, Oil Processing. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Receive assignments and instructions from lead and manager - both verbal and written. Read, understand, and follow guidelines set forth Company procedures, and blueprints when performing assigned work. Select proper materials and parts for assembly operations. Setup and layout materials and tools for all assembly operations. Maintain the required clearances and dimensions for the voltage classifications specified. Advanced knowledge/troubleshooting experience of electrical testing/theory. Advanced knowledge/troubleshooting experience of controls. Advanced knowledge/troubleshooting experience of oil processing. Understand and interpret blueprints. Compose Field Reports (Daily Activity reports, etc.) and any other job site, customer specific reports to management/customer in a timely manner. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Mechanically inclined and have basic knowledge of hand tools Understanding of transformer/industry specifications to be able to troubleshoot/analyze data. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions. Basic understanding of operating heavy machinery/equipment. Self-directed, positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions/directions. Advanced computer skills. Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required Education / Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent Advanced post-high school level education in lieu of 5 years of industry specific work experience Utility experience Report writing experience Valid Driver\'s License ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Key Working Relationships Works with other departments (Customers, Components, Sales/Marketing, transformer plants-Goldsboro, Waukesha) Communicates with customers and managers who may have...
