Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Watsonville, California
Description
We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team located in Watsonville, California. In this role, you will be in charge of various financial duties, including managing the accounting staff, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards, and providing financial reports for the company.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the Accounting Department, which includes an Accounts Receivable & Credit Specialist, Accounts Payable Clerk, and Inventory Management Clerk.
• Ensure the accounting staff is well-trained, organized and efficient in time management.
• Participate in monthly close and consolidation processes, including cash reconciliations and account analysis.
• Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger.
• Ensure timely preparation and presentation of monthly commission reports.
• Review transactions for adherence to GAAP and recommend business process improvements.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting packages.
• Provide recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operations.
• Assist in periodic budgeting/forecasting processes and annual CPA review and audit.
• Prepare governmental related returns and forms such as Payroll tax, Sales Tax, Property Tax, and Value Added Tax.
• Review credit balances, refunds, and adjustments, and apply adjustments to billing records.
• Ensure strict confidentiality of financial records.
• Work with external accounting and banking personnel for annual review processes.

Requirements • Proven proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is essential
• Proficiency in using BlackLine software
• Experience with Concur software is desirable
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems
• Ability to manage all Accounting Functions accurately
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Skilled in Auditing practices and principles
• Experience in managing Billing Functions effectively
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
• Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role within an accounting department is preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
• Ability to work in a team and lead a team effectively
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
