This position qualifies for a $2.00 an hour increase in compensation for every hour worked during the current pandemic. The increase will continue until specific criteria to the conditions are met.

As a DSP 2 you will experience personal GROWTH opportunities through career advancement and CONNECT to a community that leads a greater PURPOSE in mentoring individuals with Intellectual Disabilities in supporting their personal success.


  • Maintain collaborative professional relationships with persons served and all team members (including guardians/family members), follow ethical standards of practice (e.g. HIPAA, informed choice/consent, etc.), and recognize personal limitations

  • Successfully complete all required or assigned training, continuing education, and certifications within assigned timelines

  • Efficiently complete responsibilities and assigned tasks in an unsupervised environment

  • Attend work as scheduled

  • Participate in assessment to determine needs, preferences, and capabilities of the person served

  • Assist person served with household management (e.g. meal prep, laundry, cleaning, decorating) and with transportation needs to maximize his/her skills, abilities and independence; assist person served as needed in planning for community activities and events (e.g. making reservations, staff needs, money, materials, accessibility)

  • Provide opportunities for person served to be self-advocate by increasing awareness of self-advocacy methods and techniques, encouraging and assisting the person served to speak on his/her own behalf and encourage and assist the person served as needed in facilitating friendships and peer interactions

  • Support person served in implementing health and medical treatment

  • Comply with all agency and regulatory standards regarding safety

  • Maintain standards of confidentiality (HIPAA) and ethical practice

    To be successful you will have:

  • Become proficient in multiple software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, and electronic health record system

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills both written and verbal

  • Identified unique, creative ways to support people serviced in facilitating their goals

  • Committed to building a relationship with the people we serve to hold yourself accountable to supporting them in their success


  • High school diploma or a GED

  • Six months of continuous employment preferred

  • 18 years old or older

  • This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record, a reliable vehicle and the ability to pass an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender registry, and a criminal history check

    Preferred but not required; own a cell phone with active plan to make and receive phone calls and text messages.


  • Shift Availabilities:

  • Weekdays and every other weekend; 1st.

  • Wages: $11.40-$12.65 (awake) $8.50 (asleep) Wages are dependent upon experience
