The Opportunity

TC Energy is seeking an Integrity Threat Engineer to support and optimize our pipeline corrosion integrity programs. This position involves: Supporting subject matter experts in annual integrity program development and execution Acquiring, developing, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) Collaborating with cross-functional teams Evaluating inspection data to develop remediation strategies Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

The Threat Engineer plays a key role in developing and optimizing TC Energy's pipeline integrity programs, managing external and internal corrosion risks across our 31,000+ mile natural gas transmission network. This position is integral to our commitment to pipeline safety and environmental protection.

The ideal candidate will possess strong collaboration skills, technical knowledge of pipeline integrity (including regulations, corrosion mechanisms, and cathodic protection), and the ability to make decisions with limited information and manage time effectively. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role involves working closely with various teams within TC Energy's technical and operational management system.

Preferred location Washington, PA., but will also consider Charleston, WV., or Calgary, Albert, Canada.

What you'll do

Annual Program Support:

Conduct reviews of upcoming consequence area assessments

Determine appropriate integrity assessment techniques and strategy modifications

Develop projects, create engineering justifications, and integrate work into company systems

Perform quarterly project reviews and update plans based on changing conditions

Assist in the development and/or modifications of company procedures

Provide day-to-day operational support to ensure the annual integrity threat programs continue towards completion safely and cost-effectively

ILI Bundling and Optimization:

Review schedule modification requests from the inline inspection Project Management team

Analyze impacts and provide recommendations to maintain program integrity

Technical Analysis of Inline Inspections:

Oversee the ongoing review and analysis of inline inspection reliability-based assessments, dig recommendations, and reassessment strategy

Support the review of asset performance and corrosion threats to assist Business Development in the acquisition or divestment of pipelines and/or lines of business (LOBs)

ECDA/ICDA Program Support:

Learn the ECDA/ICDA processes, create dig sheets, gather information, review reports, and implement recommendations

Support the US Corrosion Management team in project development for the transmission and facility ECDA/ICDA programs

Casing Inspection Coordination:

Align inline inspection data with the corrosion team to determine remediation scheduling for shorted casings

Identification of Program/Company Gaps:

Leverage cross-functional exposure to identify opportunities for improvement

Escalate and initiate company changes to create value

Industry Outreach:

Collaborate with other operators, universities, consultants, and research labs to publish, present, or discuss learnings and industry best practices

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Corrosion, Chemical, or related discipline). Advanced degree preferred.

For Canadian candidates, registered as a P.Eng in the prevailing jurisdiction in good standing (e.g., APEGA in Alberta).

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in pipeline integrity management, wi h a focus on external and internal corrosion risk assessment and mitigation.

Demonstrated knowledge in interpreting and applying US federal pipeline safety regulations (e.g., 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195).

Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting inline inspection data, ECDA/ICDA findings, or other integrity assessment techniques to drive effective remediation strategies.

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
