DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Mental Health Program Director for Children & Adolescents, you will be tasked with supervisory and administrative duties involving the mental health program planning, analysis, coordinating, and implementation of mental health services for children, youth, young adults, and their families within the Washington County Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (BHDS) program. The primary job responsibilities are planning, developing, and supervising mental health services to improve the quality of life for children, youth, young adults, and their families. Work also includes developing and implementing plans and objectives for the Children's Department in an effective manner which supports a strength-based approach to ensure recovery and resiliency for children, youth, and young adults. You will have the opportunity to promote strong team building within the department to meet performance goals. Additional responsibilities include: Managing all department staff including hiring and evaluating job performance Ensuring behavioral health services are developed as a team approach with a variety of stakeholders Developing and expanding new children's mental health services to meet the demanding need for more Evidence Based Treatment Representing the Children's Department at meetings and conferences

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Required to work outside of normal scheduled hours (evening meetings). Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a County Mental Health Program Specialist 2; or Five years of professional level experience in the field of mental health, including three years of administrative, supervisory, or consultative work; and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
