The Perioperative Technical Assistant (PTA) will possess knowledge and skills necessary to function in the support role of setup and cleanup of supplies and equipment for all operating room/anesthesia cases/preop/postop. The flow of procedures will be facilitated by cleaning surfaces, picking/opening supplies, sterilizing equipment and restocking. The PTA is trained to perform specialized functions and technical skills in support of the Pre and Post-op staff in the Sibley Ambulatory Surgery Center (SASC) patient care areas.

10am-6:30pm
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to work with others, demonstrating respect and courtesy.
Maintains professional behavior in stressful situations.
Knowledge of surgical supplies.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Counting ability at the level of simple arithmetic.
1 year of experience preferred
Minimum Education and Experience:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Medical terminology preferred.
Direct patient care experience preferred.
Operating room, central supply, or comparable experience in a related health care field preferred.
