Technology Services (TS) seeks Data Science, Data Engineer, and Data Architect majors with academic and/or work experience in Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Science.
The internship is the ideal opportunity to work in an environment where transformation and organization change management intersect with human resources, financial, and other technology systems. The applicant will support existing Data Management program initiatives. The applicant will help support master data integrity processes and procedures for critical systems as well as maintain the processes that support the data quality initiatives. The applicant in collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, will assist in defining, implementing, and monitoring data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable. The applicant will learn how to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. The applicant should have a working understanding of data governance framework, policy, and standards. The applicant should have some experience performing ETL activities such as importing spreadsheets and csv files into databases and running queries. The applicant must be motivated to develop career skills, which align with business and technology through people, process, and tools. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, excellent written and oral skills, and a customer centric approach. The applicant must be able to excel on individual as well as team assignments.
This internship can be completed as a hybrid position including in-person and virtual work arrangements.
