Storage Engineer
About This Role
IntelliDyne, LLC is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer will serve as senior member of the team that is responsible for designing new and/or upgraded solutions for the customer's technology needs. Serve as an expert for the Division to advise on feasibility and methodology of integrating IT services and other critical IT issues especially in the realm of data storage and protection.
Work Location: Washington, DC
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship and Active TS/SCI
Status: Exempt
Compensation: $140k to $150k
Responsibilities:
Daily responsibilities may include:
• Design and implement solutions based on NAS storage technology
• Lead and implement storage solutions from requirements to implementation
• Develop project documentation such as project plan, high-level design, detailed design, requirements analysis and implementation plans
• Develop training documentation and Standard Operating Procedures for Systems Administrators and Help Desk staff
• Design, define and implement complex total system requirements
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for Division Systems
• Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system
• Work side-by-side with Systems Operations team to deploy new solutions into the infrastructure
• Must have knowledge of NetApp concepts – NAS, CIFS, Snapshot, SnapMirror, Snaprestore, Volume Management,
• Expert knowledge of Data OnTap 7/8
• Administration of Windows based server systems
• Performs troubleshooting and repairs as required as 3rd tier support
• Implements configuration changes or enhancements by customer request
• Travel as needed to deploy systems as designed
Qualifications:
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
• 9+ years of NAS administration experience
• Must have one of the following certifications:
o Dell Storage or Storage+ or SNIA
• Experience with most aspects of the Windows operating system
• Sound understanding of SAN and NAS storage concepts.
• Familiar with fundamental networking / distributed computing environments and concepts including DNS, WINS, and Active Directory
• Must have knowledge of NetApp concepts – NAS, CIFS, Snapshot, SnapMirror, Snaprestore, Volume Management,
• Expert knowledge of Data OnTap 7/8
• Administration of Windows based server systems
• Performs troubleshooting and repairs as required as 3rd tier support
• Implements configuration changes or enhancements by customer request
• Travel as needed to deploy systems as designed
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills: capable of training Administrators in complex topics, making presentations to internal groups. Able to write intricate system and user documentation. Capable of writing and explaining purchase justifications.
• Independent problem solving; self-directed, self-starting.
