Description

We are seeking a Sr. Grant Accountant to join our team in Washington, DC. In this role, you will be working in the non-profit sector dealing with accounting functions, compliance, USAID funding, grant accounting, and budget monitoring. This role provides a long term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the budgeting process for the grants.

• Conduct monthly variance analysis to identify and explain any significant discrepancies.

• Manage reporting to donors, ensuring transparency and adherence to funding requirements.

• Track expenditures meticulously, ensuring all spending aligns with the approved budget.

• Oversee invoicing for drawdowns, ensuring timely and accurate billing.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, particularly those related to USAID funding.

• Carry out all aspects of grant accounting, ensuring all funds are properly managed and accounted for.

Requirements • Proficient in various Accounting Functions, with an emphasis on non-profit accounting

• Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Compliance, particularly within the non-profit sector

• Proven experience with USAID Funding, with a focus on grant accounting

• Solid understanding and practical experience of Grant Accounting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for financial analysis

• Ability to perform Monthly Variance analysis to track financial performance

• Proven experience in Budget Monitoring, ensuring funds are used as per the grant stipulations
