Description:

Hybrid role in Washington D.C.

The Security Operations Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization's information systems by conducting threat monitoring, analysis, and incident response. As a key member of the Security Operations Center (SOC) team, this position focuses on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security threats. The role also involves supporting SOC operations through various activities, including vulnerability management and cyber threat intelligence.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Public Trust clearance.

Rate: $26 - $36 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:

• Monitor security alerts and events to identify potential threats and anomalies.

• Analyze security incidents to determine the appropriate response actions and mitigate risks.

• Collaborate with IT and security teams to resolve security issues and enhance security posture.

• Maintain and update security monitoring tools and systems to ensure optimal performance.

• Provide support for SOC operations, including:

• Monitoring and Analysis Support

• Cyber Threat Intelligence Support

• Vulnerability Assessment Support

• Incident Assessment and Response Support

Experience Requirements:

• Proficient in threat monitoring, analysis, and incident response.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and address security threats.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with vulnerability management and cyber threat intelligence.

• 3-5 years of experience

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.

• CompTIA Security+ certification.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
