Meta Policy Planning Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary:

Meta is seeking a Policy Manager to support the execution of global policy priorities. In this role, you’ll be a member of the Policy Planning team, a globally focused central function that supports the work of policy teams through strategic planning, coordination, and policy advising. A primary responsibility will be to plan and execute Policy related executive engagements that support company priorities, including high priority Congressional testimonies. You will also contribute to policy analyses, strategic planning, and thought leadership. The candidate must have a highly flexible skillset to juggle a range of tasks, including engagement briefs, policy analysis, strategy development, internal communications, coordination of critical projects, and contributions to team culture and values. The ideal candidate is a public policy expert who is passionate about technology, intellectually curious, and able to function in a fast-paced environment with quickly evolving priorities. They will have demonstrated experience thinking strategically, exhibiting creativity, and communicating effectively with imperfect information, especially with executives and/or policymakers. They will have a proven track record of driving results by working collaboratively with multiple teams, understanding different perspectives, and working to identify the best path forward.

Required Skills:

Policy Planning Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Lead planning and execution of Policy related executive engagements

  2. Work directly with leaders and across teams to draft and prepare content and design workback plans for meetings and events in collaboration with Director of Policy Planning

  3. Develop and maintain tools and systems to coordinate and track Policy engagements with internal and external stakeholders across teams and time zones

  4. Project manage priority workstreams, build decision-making frameworks, manage deliverables, and coordinate and schedule follow-ups

  5. Provide substantive, high-quality policy analysis on business, technology, regulatory, and political developments to inform leadership thinking

  6. Work collaboratively with a wide range of subject matter experts including legal, policy, communications, and product stakeholders to develop policy priorities and positions

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, History, Technology, or similar field

  2. 12+ years of experience in public policy, tech, or similar field

  3. Experience drafting policy briefs

  4. Experience working directly with executive management

  5. Experience managing multiple tasks under timelines, shifting priorities, and acting proactively

  6. Project management and communications (long- and short-form) experience

Public Compensation:

$151,000/year to $216,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
