Fairmont On Call Security Officer in Washington, District Of Columbia

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Security, the Security Officer is responsible for providing exceptional guest service in a friendly, welcoming and courteous manner as well as providing and maintaining a safe and secure environment for all hotel guest and colleagues. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Continually demonstrate the Service Principles with every interaction with the guest and your colleagues.

  • Help the team and the guest by undertaking other duties and responsibilities that may be requested by your or a manager.

  • Maintain a positive service attitude at all times and be willing to help and advise clients with all questions and requests they may have.

  • Patrols lobbies, corridors, and public rooms, confers with management, interviews guests and employees, and interrogates persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, and accidents.

  • Patrols public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.

  • Warns or ejects troublemakers, and cautions careless persons.

  • Obtains assistance for accident victims and writes accident reports.

  • Assists management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.

  • Receives and delivers faxes and packages.

  • Helps maintain safety of hotel guests and employees by conducting bag checks on all people entering and exiting the hotel through the employee entrance.

  • Responds to reports of suspicious behavior or security threats.

  • Aids as requested in the special security needs of high profile guests.

  • Complies with legal regulations pertaining to Security and law enforcement, and respects confidentiality requirements of the department.

  • Other duties as required during their shifts to maintain the safety and security of our guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have intermediate-advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Previous exposure to hospitality Security strongly preferred. 

  • Ability to obtain the Security Officer Commission required and must have a valid security license.

  • Excellent verbal and written English
