Koniag Data Solutions, LLC (KDS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced highly qualified professional Junior Computer Operator to support KDS, and our Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)/Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO)/Infrastructure and Operations Office (IOO) Government customer at 451 7th Street S.W., Washington, DC 20410. The Junior Computer Operator is an integral component of a team supporting our HUD client’s IT Modernization effort to provide a single Operations & Maintenance (O&M) consolidated support services of (1) data storage facilities, (2) hardware/software, and (3) cloud services providers. This position is in a team environment and involves collaboration with and supporting other team members, contractors, and HUD internal and external users. This position applies fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments. Performs work that requires practical experience and training. Work is performed under supervision. This position may also support the planning, implementing, upgrades, or monitoring security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. Also may include ensuring appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. Lastly, it may include responding to computer security breaches and viruses. The ideal candidate is a team player with proven experience as a Junior Computer Operator. Below are the qualifications for this role.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, and are not limited to:

  • Monitor and control electronic computer and peripheral electronic data processing equipment to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions. Monitor and respond to operating and error messages. May enter commands at a computer terminal and set controls on computer and peripheral devices.

  • Provide Active Directory (AD) Services mainly and not limited to:

  • for the IOO hybrid operational environments; HUD Headquarters; Regional, Field, and Satellite Offices; and Cloud Environments (Microsoft Azure Active Directory, AWS Directory, Google Identity Service, ServiceNow LDAP, Salesforce Identity Connect, etc.); and Colocation Data Centers.

  • AD & Domain Controller capabilities and investments into the hybrid operational environment (cloud and on-premises) and Client portfolio of capabilities

  • provide Mainframe Support Services for the hybrid operational environment (on-premises and cloud) mainly and not limited to:

  • Provide mainframe hardware, software, middleware, and applications support service compliant with applicable standards. As requested via Work Orders and Service Desk Tickets

  • Install, configure, administer, harden (STIG), patch, manage, operate, maintain, upgrade, and refresh the Mainframe environments compliant with applicable standards. As requested via Work Orders and Service Desk Tickets

  • provide webcasting O&M Services, O&M all (new and existing) webcasting capabilities and investments within the webcasting portfolio.

  • Schedule, plan, administer, configure, STIG, patch, upgrade, tech refresh, and monitor the webcasting environment. Webcasting events in the environment

  • Conduct pre-session testing to ensure end-to-end connectivity and shall notify the designated webcast representative of all outages and service disruptions which may impede the ability of HUD end-users to successfully execute webcast sessions

  • Involves collaboration with and supporting other team members, contractors, and HUD internal and external users.

  • Ensures a positive and professional Federal client service experience.

  • Responsibilities could include supporting all aspects of the software development life cycle including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and deployment.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 0-2 years demonstrated experience of Active Directory Services as mentioned above

  • 0-2 years demonstrated experience of Mainframe Support Services as mentioned above

  • 0-2 years demonstrated experience of webcasting O&M Services as mentioned above

  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills, self-motivated, and able to work and communicate in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks.

  • Experience and knowledge in software development lifecycles.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with Federal consulting.

Education:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer and information technology or a related field, such as engineering or math.

  • Master’s degree is a bonus

  • Knowledge and experience with HUD OCIO IOO is a bonus.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
