Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts Information Technology Specialist (Operating Systems) (Cloud Transformation Lead) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary The position is located in the Department of Technology Services (DTS), Systems Development and Support Office (SDSO). SDSO has been assigned the Transformation aspect of moving the Judiciary to commercial cloud providers and will support the Cloud Application Modernization effort. Responsibilities The incumbent of this position will serv as a Cloud Transformation Lead and will be responsible for spearheading cross-organizational cloud transformation initiatives. Responsibilities include analyzing current software and hardware infrastructure, contributing to the design of cloud-based solutions, facilitating collaboration across multiple teams, and ensuring compliance with government and industry security standards. The incumbent will also drive organizational change as needed and will have a delivery role with measurable goals and objectives. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Assisting in analyzing current software and hardware infrastructure to identify opportunities for cloud adoption and optimization. Serving as a hands-on contributor towards the development and implementation of cloud migration strategies, including system delivery, in collaboration with stakeholders. Participating in the design and architecture of cloud-based solutions, considering scalability, security, performance, and cost-effectiveness. Providing technical expertise and support to ensure successful planning, implementation, and management of cloud environments while ensuring systems comply with government regulations, standards, and security requirements applicable to cloud environments. Qualifications Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience in both the following: Leading cloud transformation initiatives in a large-scale organization; and In-depth knowledge of cloud computing concepts, platforms, and providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Desired, but not required: Applicants with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field are highly desired.
