Hilton Food and Beverage Manager - Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill in Washington, District Of Columbia

Directs and organizes the activities of the Food & Beverage departments to maintain the high standards of food and beverage quality, service and marketing to maximize profits through outstanding customer service. Plans and directs the functions of administration and planning of the Food & Beverage department to meet the daily needs of the operation. Implements effective controls of food, beverage and labor costs. Ensures compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards. Helps ensure high standards of food and beverage quality, service and marketing to maximize profits and ensure outstanding customer service. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff.

Annual Salary: 70,000 - $78,750

Additional Responsibilities Include

  • Manage daily Banquet functions to include, but not limited to, planning, organizing and executing breakfasts, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, galas, etc.
  • Oversee the setup of function rooms to include, but not limited to, the placement of linens, silver, glassware and chinaware according to event specifications and a full inspection
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Communicate function specifications, procedures and changes with affected departments including, but not limited to, the Food and Beverage, Event Services, Property Operations, Audio Visual and Housekeeping
  • Oversee the breakdown of the function room and ensure proper storage of equipment
  • Working with guests and hotel team members to ensure high quality and cleanliness standards of all meeting rooms and pre-function space.
  • Develops checklists and cleaning schedules to ensure proper cleanliness and maintenance of meeting space.
  • Meet and greet guests and respond to guest inquiries, requests and issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner and resolve guest concerns
  • ·Process banquet checks accurately and efficiently for payment
  • ·Process Payroll accurately and efficiently
  • Serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations
  • ·Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends and holiday
  • Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates team.

  • ·Regularly review and evaluate the degree of customer satisfaction of the individual outlets, includingbanquetservice,torecommendnew operating and marketing policies whenevera change in demand, customer dissatisfaction, or a change in competitive environment requires such changes.
  • ·Utilize software programs such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook, Agilysys, Avero and Unifocus, etc.

  • Have a self-driven work ethic with heavy attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Analyze Banquet Event Orders to plan and coordinate the food and beverage portion of client functions with Catering and/or Meetings and Conventions/Eventsresponsible for directing and organizing the activities and services of a hotel food and beverage outlet (restaurant, lounge & room service)

  • Manage all outlet operations to include, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
  • Initiate and implement marketing and up-selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services and to maximize overall revenue
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
  • Monitor and assess product and service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
  • Work within budgeted guidelines in relation to Food, Liquor Costs and Payroll
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
