Department Of Energy Executive Correspondence Management Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary This position is part of the Office of Management, Department of Energy. As an Executive Correspondence Management Analyst, you will serve as a focal point for receiving, analyzing, assigning, controlling, reviewing, distributing, disseminating, and recording correspondence addressed to and sent from the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Under Secretaries of Energy. Responsibilities As an Executive Correspondence Management Analyst, you will: Review and analyze the appropriateness of the responses as well as accuracy of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Proofread and edit a variety of material for use by the Department of Energy as well as for release outside the organization. Manage and track timely response of correspondence and Department reports for the Secretary, Deputy Secretary and/or Under Secretaries review, approval and/or signature. Develop solutions to common correspondence problems and participates in the preparation of special projects assigned by the Executive Secretary by providing comprehensive material on and analysis of a large volume of information. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENT: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS GS-12: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL the following: Reviewing, editing, and revising correspondences for senior leadership to ensure accuracy; AND Collaborating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders; AND Interpreting policy and procedures and making recommendations for improvements. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS GS-11: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL the following: Reviewing, editing, and revising correspondences for senior leadership to ensure accuracy; AND Collaborating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. OR Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. if related to the duties of the position. OR You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. -- "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration.
