DCG Communications Evaluation Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

DCG is a research and communications firm that provides federal agencies with strategic support for evidence-based decision-making. Our projects take place in over 100 countries around the world. DCG is seeking an evaluation manager to join our dynamic research team to support and lead rigorous program evaluation designs, oversee fieldwork, analyze results, and write reports with actionable recommendations. Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and conduct program evaluations, from development through implementation and reporting

  • Design mixed-method evaluations including incorporation of literature and theoretical frameworks, developing evaluation plans, and drafting and overseeing project timelines,

  • Oversee development of research instruments such as recruitment guides, discussion guides, and questionnaires and final products, including comprehensive analytical reports

  • Manage international evaluations, including mixed-methods approaches to data collection and utilizing a range of methodologies, including quasi-experimental designs

  • Analyze and report multiple sources of data, draft accompanying visuals to convey meaning

  • Communicate with team members, fieldwork subcontractors, and clients

  • Support the implementation of effective and efficient operations and compliance activities that deliver projects in accordance with contractual obligations, company policies, and client rules and regulations

Location: At DCG, many of our team members work remotely. With over 150 employees based throughout the country, DCG is committed to hiring the best talent and fostering a culture of virtual collaboration.  Availability for Eastern Time client meetings and periodic travel (domestic and international) are required for this role.

Required Experience:  Skills and interests

  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience, specifically in program evaluation, ideally with US government-funded programs with an international focus

  • An aptitude for analytical thinking, synthesizing large amounts of data into insightful analysis and recommendations

  • Experience with evaluation design, theory, and planning

  • Hands-on experience with primary data collection methods for evaluation, including qualitative and quantitative

  • Prior experience in overseeing or carrying out literature reviews and primary fieldwork, including moderation and interviewing

  • Excellent and concise writing, analysis, and presentation skills

  • Interest and experience in international affairs and public diplomacy

  • Prior experience coaching junior staff

  • English fluency required knowledge and fluency of additional languages is a plus

  • Attention to detail in executing data checks, analysis, fieldwork oversight, and preparation of client-ready final deliverables

  • Experience with end-to-end administrative project management

  • Solution-oriented approach to address and learn from real-world challenges/risks

  • Proactive verbal and clear written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively draft reports and communicate with clients and team members

  • Experience working independently with a willingness to collaborate across multiple teams
