Intel Atom CPU Architect in Washington, District Of Columbia

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:

The All Cores Engineering Group in DEG is looking for an Atom CPU Architect to join one of the leading design teams in the world.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Develops and drives product definition by building product bounding box (bandwidths, latencies, power ranges, workloads, port counts, and types)

  • Develops high level architecture block diagrams, delivers high level product architecture specification, and specifies protocols and functional interactions for the product.

  • Drives performance, timing, power, workloads, and area goals.

  • Evaluates feasibility tradeoffs, explores, and defines new approaches and novel architectures for the product.

  • Invents, conceptualizes, and specifies microarchitecture and architectural features for next generation product.

  • Provides experimental/proof of concept changes for proposing design alternatives meeting performance, power, area, and timing constraints.

  • Reviews, challenges, and influences cross functional roadmaps and defines technology targets.

  • Collaborates with design engineers and ensures that hardware and software interfaces are complete and properly defined.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related computing discipline with 9+ years' experience OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related computing discipline with 6+ years' experience OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related computing discipline along with 4+ years' experience.

  • High performance micro-architecture techniques and research

  • CPU architecture and micro-architecture simulators, tracing technologies, and performance analysis.

  • CPU design, implementation, and verification.

  • Strong software development skills in one or more of the following languages (C/C++/scripting/verilog/SQL).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a CPU design or verification role.

  • Advanced skills with Object Oriented Programming (C/C++/STL).

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, California: $162,041.00-$259,425.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
