Meta Associate General Counsel, AML HEx & Financial Compliance in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary:

Meta seeks a highly motivated team player to serve as Associate General Counsel, Anti-Money Laundering, Human Exploitation & Financial Compliance. This position will play a key role in advising on Meta’s compliance program across Meta, Meta's apps and products, and Meta's transactions, in particular with respect to (i) money laundering and financial crimes risks; and (ii) human exploitation & adjacent harms (e.g., sex trafficking, forced labor, sextortion). Required Skills:

Associate General Counsel, AML HEx & Financial Compliance Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal advice and support for product and second line compliance teams with respect to our compliance obligations under US and other laws

  2. Collaborate and align with relevant functions within Legal, Product, and Policy to optimize, draft, review and implement compliance policies, processes, controls, remediations, and training

  3. Support second line monitoring and testing teams as they evaluate controls

  4. Advise on exploitation and compliance risks for product and supplier operations, and third-party oversight and monitoring

  5. Support internal compliance investigations, risk assessments, and audits

  6. Undertake special projects and support other payments or HEx compliance program initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar

  2. 8+ years of relevant experience with financial crimes or user welfare laws, second line compliance or programmatic compliance design at a law firm or in-house with a multinational corporation

  1. In-house and/or government experience preferred

  2. Experience providing practical and effective advice in a fast-paced environment

  3. Interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality

  4. Proven experience presenting and communicating to audiences

  5. Experience drafting controls and remediations and with data-driven metrics

Public Compensation:

$226,000/year to $304,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
