The National Museum of African American History & Culture (NMAAHC) is a national museum for the study and exhibition of African American history and culture. Responsibilities The Advancement Operations Manager defines, develops and implements policies, procedures and systems that support and implement income/gift processing, fundraising efforts and data integrity and security. In this position, you will: develop, implement and adapt policies, procedures and regulations related to the use of NMAAHC’s Advancement systems. Initiate and supervise the development, dissemination, implementation and adjustment of systems policies and procedures to staff. oversee and manage all the processes required for gift acknowledgement and receipting. Act as primary liaison between the Smithsonian’s and NMAAHC’s finance teams to ensure financial reconciliation for monthly reporting and the annual audit. confer with staff and work collaboratively on how to best implement and use database systems to accomplish the Advancement mission. supervise Advancement Operations staff. Qualifications Basic Qualification: Experience that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. In addition to the basic qualification requirement above: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience defining and developing policies and procedures that support Advancement Operations that include gift and data processing. Creating and executing ways in which data can support donation management, and database systems management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week. Education This position has no basic education requirement. Additional Information This position is not included in the bargaining unit.
