Robert Half Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

Description

We are on the lookout for a meticulous Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager in Arlington, VA. The role involves supervising a remote operational financial team, reviewing new client contracts, managing the accounts payable and receivable processes, and resolving issues arising from normal financial business operations. This role is suitable for an individual with strong skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bi-Monthly Payroll.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee a remote operational financial staff located overseas. • Review and set up teams to handle new client contracts, procedures, and requirements.

• Supervise the retrieval process of time cards to ensure timely capture and coordinate with the payroll department to resolve issues.

• Manage the Accounts Payable (AP) process which includes handling expense reports, subcontractor invoices, vendor invoices, weekly payments, and subcontractor payments.

• Oversee the Accounts Receivable (AR) process which includes ensuring timely invoicing, resolving any issues surrounding invoices, monitoring receivables for past due amounts, and coordinating with account managers as necessary.

• Ensure all payments are applied in a timely manner and monitor discounts to ensure they are handled appropriately.

• Oversee the collections process and engage with outside collection agencies and/or attorneys to assist in elevated collection efforts.

• Act as the final escalation point for all issues arising from normal financial business operations such as timesheets, invoicing, AR, AP, and payroll interface.

• Handle incoming communications from various outside departments.

• Understand and find solutions to problems or non-standard issues within the internal system and integrate those solutions into our current processes.

Requirements

• Must hold a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated ability to handle bi-Monthly Payroll

• Strong leadership skills to supervise and manage a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy in work

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices

• Advanced computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office applications

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
