Guidehouse Accounting Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

What You Will Do :

  • Directs the daily activities of the GL team members, monitors deadlines and provides support and coaching

  • Leads the month-end and year-end closing process

  • Reviews and approves the monthly balance sheet reconciliations, researching more complex discrepancies and determining the appropriate course of action

  • Performs monthly financial flux analysis

  • Performs accounting research and provides technical guidance, as needed, to ensure the accurate processing of accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP, FAR and CAS

  • Supports the coordination of internal and external audits and the gathering of required audit information

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and leads best practice initiatives in the GL area

  • Completes special projects and other ad hoc requests

  • Ensures compliance with internal controls, including proper segregation of duties

  • Ensures processes and procedures for the GL area are well defined and clearly documented

What You Will Need :

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 7+ years of related financial experience, with at least three years in a supervisory role

  • Prior experience with government contracting entity providing services to government clients

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred

  • Significant experience with Deltek Costpoint 7.1 and Cognos

  • Strong understanding of government contract compliance regulations found in the FAR and CAS, as well as strong US GAAP knowledge

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products; advanced skills with Excel

  • Must have the ability to proactively and creatively approach problem solving in order to execute multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively on a team, and the willingness to be an active and supportive member of a cross-functional team

What Would Be Nice To Have :

The annual salary range for this position is $98,600.00-$172,500.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
