Danaher Corporation Senior Cybersecurity Project Manager in Washington DC, District Of Columbia

You will serve as a member of the Danaher Information Security team to lead project delivery excellence and ensure the on-time completion of project work for the department! You will work with the Sr. Director Security Program Management Office (SPMO) and work closely with executives, project owners, engineers and partners to security services to over 20 operating companies with the Danaher Corporation portfolio of businesses. Use existing and help instill program and project governance and management processes to ensure delivery excellence across a range of technical projects to continually assess and enhance cybersecurity protections for the organization!

Serve an important role in ensuring project portfolios and initiatives are effectively planned, executed and delivered according to defined project metrics. Manager scope, work, detailed planning, timelines, achievements, communicating status to audiences with detailed progress and metrics across a large, multi-dimensional cybersecurity program. The program spans over 20 global operating companies, multiple IT/engineering/Business teams, projects, geographies, time zones, work, stands-up new capabilities and enhances existing capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead diverse & matrixed project teams comprised of other project managers and leaders, IT resources, security team personnel and external vendor partners according to project needs and scope

  • Coordinate and ensure decentralized project execution and accountability through a standardized project delivery approach applied uniquely to each operating company

  • Design and use standard work processes for iterative value-based project delivery and to ensure on-time delivery and transparency

  • Clearly communicate the “who, what, why, how?” of security initiatives in simple to understand terms

  • Develop and track detailed project plans, schedules, timelines, achievements, risk and issues to drive successful outcomes

  • Maintain and provide status reporting to leadership (executive level) and call out issues to avoid unplanned delays or missed outcome realization

  • Distill and explain sophisticated problems into manageable tasks with clear goals for achievement

  • Utilize relevant Lean and systematic approaches for agile project delivery practices

  • Participate in the planning process and provide input to the program roadmap


  • 7+ years of experience in large enterprise environments leading large scale technical and/or cybersecurity projects; Waterfall, Agile, scrum or other technical project management experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or similarly related field or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to work hands-on with the project team and lead the end-to-end plan by staying focused on the big picture results

  • Ability to effectively lead in a matrixed & distributed organizational structure through consensus and relationship building

  • Able to navigate through ambiguity to anticipate and overcome challenges and keep project teams focused on delivering improved outcomes

  • Strong collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity working with internal and external resources and service providers and working across different time zones

  • Possess superior problem-solving skills; able to direct the resolution of sophisticated, operational and organizational problems using the appropriate resources within or outside the department

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a team

  • Detail and results oriented

  • Desire to learn new concepts and take on new challenges
