What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role youwill be instrumental in driving excellence in Amgen marketing by elevating the marketing and leadership skills of rising marketing leaders at Amgen. This role will focus on building standards of excellence in marketing and curating marketing and leadership development experiences to support mid-to-senior level marketer development. The role will also build an early career talent acquisition strategy to ensure Amgen marketing has the right talent at all levels of the organization, from early career to senior roles.

This position’s primary focus is on key strategic projects that support the development of core marketing capabilities at Amgen that support the Marketing Excellence Team within the GMAC (Global Marketing and Access Capabilities) organization. This position partners with marketing leaders, local Leadership teams, and cross functional business partners to support marketing talent and build strong brands. Amgen recognizes the critical role marketers play in the ability of our brands to deliver outsized impact in the market. As such, we are on a long-term journey to invest in and advance the role of marketing and marketers across Amgen. This role will report to the Director of Marketing Excellence and will play a critical role in building marketing capabilities across our brands and markets.

  • Work with the marketing excellence team on elevating standards of excellence in marketing across the organization, fostering marketer development at the senior level, entry level, and all levels in between.

  • Act as a beacon of best practice and change for our marketing organization.

  • Lead Amgen's Marketing Excellence team in designing and executing a comprehensive multi-year program to enhance the marketing and leadership skills of rising marketing leaders.

  • Manage all aspects of the program, including curriculum design, talent review calls, and mentorship programs. Ensure documentation, key performance indicators (KPIs), and ongoing improvements are fostered within the program.

  • Partner with HR and marketing leaders to establish an early-career talent acquisition strategy.

  • Continuously seek to identify standard processes, both internal and external

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

Master’s degree and 4 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

Associate’s Degree and 10 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong marketing acumen with experience building and growing brands.

  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to challenge norms to drive marketing excellence.

  • Ability to influence without authority across markets, functions, and levels across a global organization.

  • Stellar verbal and written communication skills. A storyteller, facilitator, and change agent.

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs.

  • Provide coaching and collaboration with stakeholders to identify skill gaps and align training programs with organizational goals.

  • Track record to manage and deliver on projects to drive business results.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
