Where You’ll Work

We are open to finding the right candidate in either of our home offices, either Washington, D.C. or Lenexa, Kansas. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What You’ll DoThe CHA Public Affairs team is growing! This new position will concept and create visual design solutions to elevate CHA’s brand and mission across all communication channels. This role plays a key role in crafting and maintaining CHA’s executive and senior leadership presentations.

  • Create visually dynamic and impactful presentations for CHA executives and senior leaders that align with brand guidelines, enhance our organization's image, and effectively communicate key messages.

  • Transform complex information and data into clear, concise, and visually engaging slides, incorporating elements like images, data visualization, charts, and infographics.

  • Design and maintain presentation templates, slide masters, training tools, and image libraries using PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite to ensure consistency and efficiency.

  • Serve as a project manager for Public Affairs communication and campaign timelines to ensure clarity, timelines and effectiveness.

  • Work closely with the content and delivery teams to conceptualize and execute impactful designs for a variety of deliverables including reports, fact sheets, infographics, content packages, event promotions, social media and email campaigns.

  • Manage imagery usage, including in-house photo collection and stock photography.

  • Search and size appropriate images to support CHA’s web, email and social communication channels.

  • Be a brand guidelines steward, ensuring brand standards compliance within the design team and across the organization.

  • Develop an understanding of organizational programs and priorities, translating them into visually compelling stories.

  • Work closely with leaders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to understand project objectives, content requirements, and target audiences, that include internal teams, Board members, industry partners, and community stakeholders.

  • Remain organized and flexible while managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Balance long-term projects, reoccurring requests and urgent needs.

  • Facilitate the creative process from concept to completion, ensuring deliverables align with organizational goals.

Required Experience:

What You’ll Bring to CHA

  • Bachelor's degree in design, visual arts or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design, communications, or a similar field, with additional focus on presentation development.

  • A compelling portfolio showcasing advanced visual design skills and a proven ability to create clear, engaging, and impactful presentations.

  • Expertise in relevant tools and software on a PC environment, including Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, familiarity with designing for various output media (e.g., projectors, monitors, printouts).

  • Proficiency in object animations, video embedding, and managing platform differences (PC/Mac).

  • Demonstrated creativity and able to quickly generate a variety of innovative design concepts and solutions.

  • Ability to take a project from concept through final product, with direction and feedback.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for visual storytelling.

  • Proven ability to manage projects efficiently, set timelines, and deliver quality work under tight deadlines.

This pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $65,000 Max: $134,000 Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
