Allied Universal Fire Safety Trainer Manager in Washington D.C., District Of Columbia

Allied Universal® is hiring a Trainer. The Trainer is responsible for conducting training activities in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as Allied Universal standards. This Security Trainer will train CPR/First Aid/AED, Defensive Tactics (e.g., handcuffs, pepper spray, batons, Tasers, firearms), Mobility Devices (e.g., vehicles, bicycle, golf cart, Segway), Fire Safety Services (emergency plans; occupants, floor wardens and staff presentations; and evacuation drills), and other value-added services such as workplace violence/active shooter training.

Basic Job Responsibilities :

  • Develop training content to support internal customer training requests and external client needs.

  • Work with operational partners to develop practical training programs to comply with contractual and regulatory training.

  • Deliver Fire/Life Safety training programs in accordance with Allied Universal standards and contractual requirements to include (evacuation drills, emergency plans, staff presentations, bullhorn training.

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers and external clients.

  • Develop staff in both technical and professional skills through performance management (coaching, counseling, disciplining, contract training program, formal performance evaluations, recognition awards, etc.).

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly calendars to schedule and support training activities.

  • Keep training records and prepare accurate and timely reports both manually and through automated methods.

  • Assist the Chief Fire Marshal in the planning and execution of all Security and Fire Life Safety drills/training exercises.

  • Conduct required refresher training for the FLS Inspectors.

  • Assist Program Coordinator and Chief Fire Marshal in any additional tasks as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Three years of classroom instructor experience.

  • Effective Organizations Skills and Attention to detail.

  • Previous Fire Life Safety, Contract Security, facilities management, military or law enforcement experience preferred.

  • Ability to develop and grow customer relationships.

  • Experience in onboarding new employees, developing, motivating, and retaining staff.

  • Strong time management experience required with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills required. Position requires an outgoing person, who can relate to individuals at all levels and from all backgrounds.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented management environment with the ability to work independently.

  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities, complex situations, a diverse team of employees and client requirements on an ongoing basis.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license if driving a company-owned vehicle.

  • Highly proficient and fully functional in Microsoft programs such as Word and PowerPoint and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology.

  • Must possess knowledge of and experience with customer service and relations.

  • Provides the basis of a great place to work by treating staff with respect.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours outside of the normal working hours to facilitate and meet goals and objectives.

  • Demonstrates strong written and oral communications skills; ability to conceptualize and analyze problems, and provide solutions clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; be self-motivated, possess strong initiative and follow-through abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some college education or business classes

  • Prior experience in the fire service, security industry, law enforcement and/or military

  • Experience in security operations or other functions of security industry
