Nestle Transport Optimizer in Warszawa, Poland
Position summary:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Transport Optimizer within our growing European Transportation Hub team. Our Transportation Hubs are responsible for planning and executing Nestlé’s transportation simplifying and standardizing our European distribution processes.
We are looking for you to join our team in the Central European Transportation Hub in Warsaw focusing on deliveries to customers for both domestic and cross-border flows.
A day in a life of a Transport Optimizer:
The Transport Optimizer position is responsible for load planning in an adequate lead time, securing appointments, and the initial load tender. The Transport Optimizer also interacts with many internal and external partners. The position requires a proactive individual who is aligned with the expectations and objectives of the Supply Chain while taking care of the daily operational activities.
Main tasks include:
Efficient and effective planning of transports of Nestlé products using the Transportation Hub tools and processes to accomplish with the service expectations.
Collaboration with cross-functional areas including customer service, carriers, warehouses, and demand & supply planning.
Taking initiative and making decisions independently balancing the customer needs, warehouse requirements, carrier capacity, and escalating if necessary.
Analysis and elimination of root causes of recurrent problems in cooperation with other departments.
Creation of fully optimized Freight Orders while respecting the relation between the appointments and the transit time.
Ensure all the demand is planned as required.
Initial Carrier Selection.
Being the transportation point of contact for the factories/ distribution centers.
Active participation and contribution to project implementations.
Build strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
Pursue continuous knowledge on Transportation and Supply Chain.
Our requirements
Transportation and/or logistics experience preferred.
Very good oral and written English language. Other languages valued.
Very good interpersonal skills, building lasting relationships and communication skills.
Problem solving skills.
Analytical, decision-making and good judgment is required.
Resistance to stress and ability to work under time pressure.
Highly curious and eager to learn.
