We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to provide support in data entry and accounting tasks. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with established procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to develop their skills and gain valuable experience in the finance field.
Responsibilities:
Accurately enter financial data into the company's accounting system, ensuring data integrity and timely completion
Verify and reconcile invoices, receipts, and financial documents
Assist with accounts payable and receivable activities, including processing payments and issuing invoices
Prepare and maintain financial reports, statements, and records
Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes
Assist in maintaining proper documentation and filing systems for financial records
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to financial data
Follow internal accounting controls and contribute to the development of efficient processes
Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience in data entry and/or accounting roles, preferably in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical accuracy
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, for data entry and analysis
Familiarity with accounting software and systems
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
Preferred qualifications:
Previous experience in a finance or accounting role within the retail sector
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements
Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CMA, etc.) or progress toward certification
