Citigroup Business Analytics Lead Analyst in Warsaw, Poland

The Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) Business Analytics Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business.

The Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) Metrics and Variance Trade analyses trade volume and exposure trends to identify and address data quality issues that impact exposure calculations. This is accomplished by working closely with our partners in Counterparty Risk Analytics, Credit Risk Management and Technology to improve the integrity of the factors, processes and systems that impact data quality. The team is comprised of risk professionals with subject matter expertise of the key attributes that are critical for effective exposure calculations (PSE, NSE) on Derivatives (OTC) and Securities (SFT) products. This includes knowledge of systems, exposure calculations, transaction data and market data.

The proactive identification and improvement of Risk data quality through analysis of key risk inputs and exposure measurements.

Perform risk data quality analysis and address potential risk process and exposure calculation improvements across multiple businesses: Risk Management, IT, Finance, Front Office etc. specializing in Over-The-Counter Traded Derivatives (OTC) and Securities Finance Transactions (SFT) products.

Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactive identification of potential business issues, data patterns & trends, and provides insights to enhance business decision making capability in process improvement, solution assessment etc.

  • Recommends actions for future developments and strategic business opportunities, as well as enhancements in Data Analytics variance, metrics and reporting for Liquidity and Readily Marketable (LRM), Margin Period of Risk, Pre-settlement, Net Stressed calculations

  • Maintain reasonability checks on crucial risk (finance) attributes, develops tools, procedures for potential Data Quality (DQ) issues identification and reporting

  • Work closely with internal and external business partners in building, implementing, tracking and improving the LRM and MPOR processes.

  • Continuously improve processes and strategies by exploring and evaluating new data sources, tools, and capabilities and has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision

  • Perform daily analysis on key factors and business data focused on securities products and attributes for LRM, MPOR concentration and exposure calculation

  • Presents findings/analysis and make recommendations to senior management, acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members, provides training and guidance to other team members

  • Promotes more effective use of existing tools and processes (and eliminate those that are not used or are ineffectual)

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience.

  • Experience as an Operations Research Analyst, Analytics Manager, Strategic. Business Analyst or related position performing quantitative analytics supporting financial services.

  • Experience analyzing large datasets; applying mathematical, statistical and quantitative analysis techniques to perform complex analyses and data mining.

  • Project and process management skills.

  • Solid organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

  • Self-starter who also has a demonstrated ability to work successfully in team environment and drive.

  • Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred.
