Citigroup Applications Development Manager - Services Technology in Warsaw, Poland

The Applications Development Manager is an intermediate management level position responsible for providing full leadership and governance to implement and maintain application systems and programs in coordination with the multiple stakeholders internally and externally. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities for payments solutions across Services Technology, Middle East and Africa Cluster (MEA).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage set of Applications to accomplish established goals as well as act as an advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts

  • Leverage skills across Applications Development area to provide technical oversight across managed systems and applications

  • Deliver technology solutions to complex, enterprise level programs, managing the design, development, implementation, dependencies, risks and controls elements of the lifecycle

  • Communicate internal and external departmental interdependence as well as cross product and cross project

  • Resolve issues using in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within applications development

  • Communicate project timelines and milestones; obtain senior management feedback; understand potential technical speed bumps and client’s true concerns/needs

  • Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business processes, system processes, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement

Qualifications:

  • At least 5-6 years of relevant experience

  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects

  • Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects

  • Experience with dependency management, change management, continuous integration testing tools, and audit/compliance requirements

  • Client centric approach to solution design and delivery

  • Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues.

  • Articulate and effective communicate, both orally and written, with an energetic and approachable style

  • Extensive knowledge of software engineering and object-oriented design

  • Knowledge of development technology, Java, C#, SQL, Teamcity, Bitbucket, uDeploy, JIRA etc

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
