Description:

This client is a medical device company that develops and manufactures orthopedic implants and instrumentation for spinal and extremity procedures. They use advanced technologies and evidence-based techniques to design innovative rods, screws, plates, and other devices that advance orthopedic care. The company partners with surgeons and healthcare providers to improve patient outcomes through precision implants and instrumentation.

The manufacturing engineer works with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements in manufacturing technology. This engineer maintains and grows the intellectual property portfolio around manufacturing processes. Using Lean, Six Sigma, the engineer analyzes root causes and implements corrective actions. Partnering with customers, he or she evaluates and influences design for manufacturing (DFM). The engineer also develops and supports production processes, layouts, documentation, tooling, fixtures, sourcing production equipment, and executing equipment and process validation protocols.

• Lead and participate in cross functional teams

• Identify and implement manufacturing technology improvements

• Maintain and develop manufacturing process intellectual property portfolio.

• Solve problems using Lean, Six Sigma, and other data analysis tools

• Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions

• Partner with customers to evaluate and influence DFM

• Develop and support production processes, layouts, documentation, tooling, and fixtures

• Source, specify and purchase production equipment

• Draft, Execute, and Complete Equipment and Process Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)

Must Haves:

1. Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering or related

2. 5+ years within manufacturing high volume products

3. Experience in an ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or medical device manufacturing environment preferred.

4. Familiarity with MasterCam, Esprit, Partmaker, or similar CAM systems is a plus.
