About the Opportunity

Jacobs are recruiting a Senior NDT Consultant to work within the Inspection Validation Centre carrying out Inspection Qualification activities in support of nuclear industry contracts. Detailed knowledge and experience of inspection of high integrity Nuclear components using manual and automated UT inspection techniques is required, together with experience of assessing inspection systems against written specifications and providing examination of inspection procedures and personnel.

• You will be bringing your expertise to support the team already working in the NDT group.

• Your contribution will ensure that the IVC continue to meet customer requirements to support timely completion and on-going safety of the Hinkley Point C Power Plant.

• Reporting to the IVC Technical Manager.

• Supporting the requirements for NDT Qualification projects, including Hinkley Point C, Sizewell B and other nuclear new build opportunities as they arise.

• Your technical skills, questioning attitude, delivery and customer focus will support your success in the role.

• The role will provide exposure and personal development to the range of technically challenges encountered in the qualification of NDT applied in the nuclear industry.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Essential

• Degree in Engineering/Science/NDT.

• Leadership experience in an NDT development / delivery role.

• Experience in the development or appraisal of inspection processes in accordance with the ENIQ methodology.

• Experienced in NDT assessment, design and implementation.

• Experience in Nuclear in-service/in-manufacture inspection development or implementation.

• Ability to work with a delivery focus, yet still able to challenge others from a quality and technical perspective.

• A strong sense of team spirit, able to learn from and support colleagues to meet delivery objectives.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance.

• Ability to interface and liaise with key clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders

• Energy, enthusiasm and good communication skills.

Desirable

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.

• PCN qualifications in Ultrasonic techniques preferably at level 3.

• Understanding of Ultrasonic inspection modelling software.

• Experience in witnessing and invigilating practical and written exams.
