About the opportunity:
Senior Instrumentation Designer:
Undertake detail design activities on the SCP project. The SCP project are looking for a “right first time” approach and as such, we seek candidates who can rise to the opportunity of being part of an imaginative and inspired team and are capable of efficient and timely production of quality discipline deliverables.
Develop detail design documentation, using knowledge of BS 7671 standards, knowledge of Schematic diagram development from first principles in AutoCAD including panel layouts and General Arrangements.
The senior designer shall be capable of developing the following:
• Typical installation Drawings
• Instrument Loop Drawings (via AVEVA)
• Instrument Hook-Up drawings (via AVEVA)
• Instrument Mounting/Frame Drawings
• Instrument Data Sheets (via AVEVA)
• Block Cable Diagrams
• Schematic Drawings
• Wiring Drawings
• General Arrangements & Parts List
• Panel Layout Drawings
The candidate shall be fully capable of developing designs based on AutoCAD blocks. The candidate shall be familiar with AVEVA design tools, The candidate shall be capable of developing General Arrangements, based on equipment data sheets and Schematic Diagrams, selecting appropriate panel sizes and external layout of equipment and indicators/controls. The candidate shall be capable of developing Hook-Up drawings from first principles, liaising with the Principle Instrument Engineer and other discipline engineers. The candidate shall be capable of working without any supervision, with input from Principal and Senior Engineers into their designs.

Experience of working within a highly regulated industry, nuclear industry an advantage. Must have good knowledge of process instrumentation.
Must have an excellent knowledge of electrical panel design processes. Knowledge of BS 6739. Ability to communicate effectively with team members. Knowledge of AVEVA Instrumentation and AVEVA Electrical shall be advantageous.
Candidates shall be preferred to have or be able to gain security clearance and reside in the UK.
