Stantec Senior Consultant | Major Infrastructure in Warrington, United Kingdom
Stantec is currently seeking a Senior Infrastructure Planner/Consultant with Major Infrastructure experience to join any of our UK offices. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and ambitious group with a strong growing workload.
We are seeking a motivated individual who wants to become a key member of our team delivering some of the UK's largest and most ambitious projects. This role would suit an individual who is excited by a broad range of different activities and who is able to quickly adapt to manage work within any of the key aspects of Major Infrastructure Development. The Major Infrastructure team delivers a wider range of projects across all consenting regimes and sectors including a number of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects. Our projects include the Thames Tideway, M3 Junction 9 Improvement scheme, HS2, Riverside Energy Park, Water for Life Hampshire and offshore wind farms for clients and public authorities as well as working to represent local planning authorities affected by schemes such as Lower Thames Crossing.
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
Leading site selection and options appraisal studies to drive effective and robust decision-making.
Drafting and writing technical reports on a broad range of topics (environment, planning, land) to support our consent submissions
Managing and coordinating the delivery of reports and inputs from other technical specialists within the Stantec business and other organisations
The preparation of technical content for consultation events and responding to objections or comments from different public bodies, private organisations, and the local community
Checking and ensuring that our applications are compliant with relevant legislation and guidance
Assisting in the preparation of final submission documents for major infrastructure projects at different stages in the consenting process from inception through to completion
Responsibility for guiding and mentoring junior members of the team
Business development, involvement in bids and project proposals suggesting areas of new business within our Major Infrastructure strategy
Developing client relationships as well as your own personal network to deliver new opportunities
Leading and managing relationships with key stakeholders including Local Authorities and Statutory Environmental Bodies.

You will be a motivated, enthusiastic and collaborative individual with a town planning or environmental planning background with experience in the infrastructure sector.
You will also possess strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy. The ideal candidate will also have experience that covers a range of consenting regimes and ideally experience across a range of sectors. You will hold professional accreditations with a recognised institution, such as RTPI or IEMA.
