About the Opportunity

As a result of increasing demand for our services, there are significant opportunities for you, as a Principal HVAC Designer to support a key project within the nuclear business.

Role Responsibilities The candidate would provide a supporting role to the Senior Engineer to deliver the HVAC systems design packages.

  • These include (but are not limited to) C5 extract & C3 extract and C2 & C0 supply & extract systems.

  • Able to assist the Senior Engineer in preparation for design reviews & HAZOPs and give support to the Senior Engineer with progress reporting and ensuring successful, timely delivery of design work.

  • Able to work as a team member, oversee senior designer & designer grade staff, liaise closely with 3D-modellers and have constructive dialogue with staff from all levels & disciplines.

  • In addition, the candidate would be required to: - produce drawings (VFDs, GAs & SLDs), calculations, CDM risk assessments and OIMSs - input to specifications & other miscellaneous documents supporting the HVAC design process - carry out site surveys of HVAC systems - level 3 checking of drawings produced by other designers.

  • It would be an advantage to be familiar with delivering projects using PDMS. Any prior experience of cell, laboratory & glovebox design would be preferable. Experience of using Hevacomp software would be an advantage

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • It is expected that staff at this grade can demonstrate a proven track record at the grade of senior designer –

  • Significant engineering experience working within a highly regulated industry, 10 of which should have ideally been gained within the nuclear/Process industry.

  • Fully conversant with UK Statutory Regulations and industry design guides and standards relating to this discipline.

  • AutodeskCAD, Navisworks Freedom Viewer, MS Office suite of programmes including Visio, SL network/IT access.
