LifePoint Health Medical Technologist MT I - PRN Variable Shifts/Rotate Weekends in Warrenton, Virginia
The Medical Technologist (MT) I maintains current professional knowledge and skills to perform testing as a generalist in the Clinical Laboratory, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, and basic microbiology and blood banking.
- Responsible for producing high quality, accurate test results in an efficient manner consistent with laboratory and hospital policy.
- Collects samples and analyze bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities. Collects blood and study blood samples used in transfusions.
- Performs automated tests using computerized instruments & automated equipment. Performs manual tests based on detailed instructions from a physician.

Minimum Education Associate’s degree □ Preferred X Required Bachelor's degree X Preferred □ Required
Exception: Meets qualifications under the CLIA '88 Grandfather clause for High Complexity Testing personnel.
Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Skills Certifications: Medical Lab Technician (MLT ASCP) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS ASCP) preferred Required: successful completion of the MLT certification (ASCP) within 6 months of hire.
Minimum Work Experience Required - Medical Technology internship at an accredited program. Preferred - 1 - 2 years generalist
