The Department of Human Services is seeking an energetic, dependable Clerical Assistant 2 for a position at the Warren State Hospital.  In this position you will perform complex clerical duties for the facility's Safety Management programs.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will provide clerical support to the Safety Manager inclusive of Safety, Fire, and Security, and as needed to the departments under the Chief Operating Officer's direction. You will provide support in matters of property claims administration, liability response, and investigations. You will also maintain files and Material Safety Data Sheets. In this position, you will assist the Business Office in the operation of the hospital mailroom by monitoring and processing outgoing and incoming USPS mail.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Travel and overtime as needed. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
