Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Machine Operator on the 2nd shift. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to transition to a permanent role. You will receive comprehensive training on the 1st shift for the first few weeks. The work hours are from 3pm to 11pm, with some shifts extending to 1:00am. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up equipment, performing inspections, operating machines, and ensuring high-quality production.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment off-line, including change overs and first off inspections.

• Conduct first off inspections of all runs on the line.

• Utilize tools for inspection and measurement.

• Operate roll form machines after training.

• Drive a forklift and load trucks.

• Perform inventory counts.

• Read prints and conduct quality inspections.

• Operate an overhead crane.

• Perform hand-written documentation for inspected parts.

• Read set up instructions and notes to set up the press and roll former.

• Fill out inspection reports with a high level of detail.

• Follow lock out tag out procedures meticulously.

• Apply basic and advanced math skills, including converting fractions to decimals.

• Assist in shipping and warehouse duties.

• Work in a non-departmentalized environment where everyone is cross-trained and rotated daily.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read tape measures and blueprints or work instructions.

• High attention to detail and documentation experience.

• At least 1 year of machine operating and setup experience.

• Willingness to work 10-hour shifts.

• Mechanical aptitude, including tow motor and overhead crane operation.

• Possession of steel toe boots.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with micrometers and calipers.

• Experience in quality inspection and documentation.

• Ability to read and interpret setup instructions and notes.

You will work in a facility that provides in-house roll forming, stamping, and slitting. Our work environment fosters a collaborative and cross-trained team dynamic. The company is a tier 2 supplier for major data centers, ensuring a stable and recession-proof business. We are not in the automotive space, allowing us to focus on producing niche, high-quality parts with zero safety violations for over 3 years. Our team consists of 23 dedicated employees, and we are expanding our 2nd shift to accommodate growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, Ohio.
