Waltonen Mechanical Engineer in Warren, Michigan
Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team!
Responsibilities
Develop designs for subsystems, components, and mounting provisions for various devices
Design subsystems and components related to hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, shock isolation to meet vehicle requirements
Perform analysis of design and be able to apply engineering judgment in material selection, welding, and fabrication for mechanical components and complex welded brackets, mounting provisions
Create drawing mark-ups, tolerance stack analysis, and generating source data for engineering changes
Provide support to prototype and production vehicle build
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
Have a working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, and shock isolation
Experience with design, integration, and analysis of mechanical components and mechanisms
Have an understanding of the mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication methods for mechanical components and complex welded structures
Solid understanding of CAD software
Only United States Citizens can be considered
Must possess or be able to obtain security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in vehicle component and/or systems engineering
Experience with NX or Creo Software
Experience with Teamcenter
Experience with Vis Mockup
Experience with defense/military vehicles (highly preferred)
