About the Role

Responsible for the supervision of direct reports, leading molding process improvements, production start-up, production support and implementation of new projects, and process improvements for existing and new injection molding programs.

Supervise and develop direct and indirect labor personnel to ensure achievement of divisional safety, quality and production objectives following the principals established in the Employee Charter.

Responsible to manage daily Mold Department Production activities and ensure production is achieved to required quality, time and cost specifications focusing on continuous improvement of goals and objectives.

Your Responsibilities

  • Supervise AIM Systems-Warren direct labor to include training and development, communication, enforcement of company policies and procedures, performance coaching and evaluation and written documentation of performance issues in a timely manner. (e.g. performance reviews, performance improvement plans, etc.)

  • Lead problem solving activities as they relate to injection molding.

  • Assist in start-up and set-up of new tools and resins, including tool and resin trials, and documentation.

  • Analyze and resolve processing problems as well as initiate and implement cost reduction programs to processes in the Molding department.

  • Responsible for improving cycle times and overall efficiencies including mold change improvements.

  • Assist in overall continuous improvement activities as they relate to manufacturing processes, safety, product quality and all other functions.

  • Supervise reporting personnel by following the principles of the Magna Employee Charter.

  • Responsible for maintaining positive employee relations including an open communications climate, effective resolution of employee concerns and consistent application of company policy.

  • Exhibit a fair and consistent approach in supervising all employees, which follows the principles outlined in Magna’s Employee Charter to ensure a satisfied and productive workplace.

  • Lead and direct operations in health and safety, quality, customer satisfaction, cost, productivity, environmental and ergonomic issues through to resolution utilizing problem solving processes (e.g. 8D, 5Y,etc.)

  • Perform other duties as required.

Who we are looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in injection molding, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 2 years of processing plastics and setting tools

  • Knowledge of automation systems and controls required

  • Minimum 2 years of IATF 16949 experience and knowledge of ISO14001

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, as well as strong organization skills

  • Minimum 3 years supervision experience.
